Macrossans Lawyers is one of two firms trialling the document reviewer and case management system McNReviewer. The web-based tool has several features which pass on significant costs savings to clients.
The trial involves a case in which a large volume of documents have been processed and considered. Our test reveals that the tool has provided significant efficiencies and passed on substantial costs savings to our client by:
- allowing a number of experts and advisers to access the site and documents through various secure groupings
- speeding up the time taken to upload and review documents
- giving 24/7 document access to all parties, experts and advisers simultaneously, without the need for printing or copying
- giving the client the ability to review all documents in detail and attach e-comments to documents which are instantly available to the solicitors, other advisers and experts involved.
- requiring less travel from our interstate based client; and as a result
- greatly reducing the carbon footprint generated in running the matter.
The McNReviewer, developed in Brisbane, runs through a secure extranet facility The system has full backup capability and utilises Hewlett Packard backend servers and CISCO security protocols. Regular security tests and audits are undertaken using external consultants.
The system provides dual split screen viewing ie one window for searching for documents and the other for document viewing.
As a result of this trial Macrossans Lawyers is able to report that there are significant advantages to clients if it is likely that matters involve the consideration of volumes of documents. Macrossans Lawyers will discuss use of the reviewer with clients in situations where we consider it will be beneficial for the client.
